Growing up, Derreck Haugen (or DEADSONIC) had a passion for music. He would beatbox, sing instrumentals, and kept referencing music quotes in everyday life. He fell into heavy metal music, after listening to Slipknot’s Wait and Bleed. He was inspired by the heaviness, and “spookiness” they had to offer. As he grew older, he began tampering with guitar playing, and began singing heavy metal songs, which inspired him to start a band.

Growing up in a small town, nobody was keen on the idea, being as the genre was a little more heavy for their liking, so Deadsonic took it upon himself to make his own music.

In 2010 he was introduced to Excision, and his mind went straight to EDM music. He wanted to mix both, metal, and dubstep, and began to focus on the idea of dubstep.

2 years later, he began tampering around with music production, starting off with Future Bass, and Hip Hop Beats, until 2019, when he began to focus on his dubstep sound, and released his first single, The Fallout.

From there, Deadsonic has been focusing on chasing his metal/ dubstep inspired vision, and still continues to do so, while meeting others along the way. His goal? Inspire everyone to be themselves freely and confidently despite what others think.
